Shoreline Reduction from Climate Change

Address-based information on this subject is included in our Premium Report.

Shoreline reduction is caused by global warming or an increase in the earth's surface temperature. A global temperature increase causes the ocean to expand, as well as glaciers and land-based ice sheets to melt. This in turn moves the shoreline further inland, causing 'Shoreline Reduction'.

"When one reviews all the data…..it becomes clear that the Earth has warmed significantly over the last 140 years; Global Warming is a reality. Multiple (paleoclimatic) studies indicate that the 1990s, and the 20th century are the warmest, on a global basis, of the last 600 years, and most likely 1200 years. It appears that the global warming of the last century is unprecedented in the last 1,200 years." - National Climatic Data Center.
